Back when we lived in the city, life always felt too busy to pause and go exploring Western Australia’s wildflowers. But here in Pemberton, we’ve learned to slow down and soak in the beauty of each season. Last week, we set out on one of our favourite forest walks in search of the first spring wildflowers and it was simply magical.

Delicate blooms stood proudly against the green of the karri forest, offering splashes of colour that felt like little treasures waiting to be discovered. Many more shrubs were heavy with buds, with soft hints of pinks, yellows, reds and purples beginning to peek through—promising a spectacular wildflower season ahead.

If you’re planning a visit, the best time to see Pemberton’s wildflowers is from the start of September through to November, when the forest floor transforms into a living carpet of colour. It’s one of the most unforgettable things to do in Pemberton during spring.

We’ve shared a few of our favourite photos from our secret wildflower walk below. And if you’d like to know the best hidden spots to explore, book your stay at Serenity House Pemberton—where we’ll share our local tips and favourite wildflower walks right from your doorstep.
