Apples in a Crate

Amazing Apples And Australia's Best Specialty Cider Award

Autumn is our season for apples, with many of our honesty stalls and local markets brimming with varieties such as Pink Ladies, Fuji, Royal Gala and Grannie Smiths. As well as eating apples, Serenity House Pemberton is a short drive from cideries as well as out local apple juicer Newleaf Orchard Juicers. The Wild Beyond, is Newleaf's newly opened cidery, who are serving up a delicious and exciting range of offerings. Their Barrel-Aged Sour Cider took the trophy for Australia's Best Specialty Cider at the 2024 Australian Cider Awards. We are eagerly look forward to our next visit as these guys are brewing up a storm!

Walk Or Zipline Amidst The Tallest Fire Lookout Trees In The World!

Pemberton is the best place to view Western Australia's towering karri trees. Whilst we eagerly awaiting the re-opening of the Gloucester Tree for climbing later this year, the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree is open for climbing. Or for the adventurous, try out Arial Adventures Pemberton, offering a flying fox and aerial tree top walk experience, Both Arial Adventures and the Gloucester Tree are under a 20 minute walk from Serenity House Pemberton. And there are numerous walks in and around Pemberton which we have detailed in our guest book in both Serenity House and Serenity Cottage.

Wonderful Wine And Delectable Distilleries

Pemberton is known for it's cool climate wines, especially Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We have a number of tried and tested wineries right on the doorstep of Serenity House Pemberton. Silkwood have a wide selection of wines, including their dessert fortified wine Zin Zinfandel which is perfect to enjoy around our woodfires to warm up after a day exploring. Hidden River as well as Silkwood are also where you can enjoy great food to accompany your favourite wines. Nearby Pemberley of Pemberton have many award winning wines and then there's Ampersand where you can enjoy first-class gins (flavoured with herbs, fruits and plants indicative to the South West) as well as wines, including their award winning Pinot Noir.

Forest Fungi

The cooler weather is perfect for taking a walk in our one of the numerous forests and dam walks close to Serenity House Pemberton. You don't need to walk to far out of our cottage or house doors before meeting all the colourful fungi flourishing on our forest floors and even in and around our grounds. If you want to find out where to find fairytale red and white Amanitas as big as dinner plates, or neon orange works of art, then just ask us for all the best spots and we are happy to share our favourite fungi walks. Remember to take our mushroom guides on your walk to see how many varieties you can find! And of course it isn't long till June and July for booking in on a Truffle Hunt.

Tram it to Lefroy Brook and the Cascades waterfall

Recreate a little bit of our history and climb aboard one of the original trams that were so important for our timber town growth.  The 75 minute journey with Pemberton Tramways takes you deep into our breathtaking forests whilst the driver provides an informative and fun commentary. The train runs over bridges, stopping at the Cascades waterfalls for 25 minutes so you can hop off and take in the scenery. Pre-book a return or a one way ticket should you wish to pick up the Bibbulmun track and walk back to Pemby or onwards.
