Black Truffle

Truffle Time!

The Mediterranean climate, winter rainfall and rich, loamy soils make the Southern Forests one of the most fertile regions in Australia. Head to a produce stand on the side of the road, get to a farmers market or visit one of Pemby's top rated restaurants for the freshest local produce you could ever ask for.  Winter is a great time for sampling our local mushrooms and indeed truffles. Check out the Truffle Kerfuffle weekend happening on 28th-30th June for all things truffle!

Walkers Paradise With Tallest Fire Lookout Trees In The World

Pemberton is the best place to view Western Australia's towering karri trees, with the Gloucester Tree (61 meters) and Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree (75 meters) offering spectacular panoramic forest views. We are eagerly awaiting news on the re-opening of the Gloucester Tree for climbing, however, for now you can still admire these guardians of the forest. You can even walk to the Gloucester Tree in under 20 minutes from Serenity House Pemberton! Or for the adventurous, try out the Arial Adventures, our new flying fox experience based right at the Gloucester Tree.

Tram it to Lefroy Brook and the Cascades waterfall

Recreate a little bit of our history and climb aboard one of the original trams that were so important for our timber town growth.  The 75 minute journey with Pemberton Tramways takes you deep into our breathtaking forests whilst the driver provides an informative and fun commentary. The train runs over bridges, stopping at the Cascades waterfalls for 25 minutes so you can hop off and take in the scenery. Pre-book a return or a one way ticket should you wish to pick up the Bibbulmun track and walk back to Pemby or onwards.
